Mocktail Season

This past year we were expecting our second baby but I still liked to have a different drink every now that’s not just soda water or juice so mocktails were a new fun favorite to make. Whether you are a designated driver, abstaining from alcohol, pregnant like me or just want a unique and flavorful alternative, mocktails offer a great solution for social gatherings or just a random Tuesday at home when you want to pull out the fancy glasses.

These are a few of my favorite Mocktail recipes

Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces non-alcoholic gin ( I like Ritual Zero Proof or Seedlip)

  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice

  • 1 ounce simple syrup

  • Soda water

  • Lemon wheel or twist, for garnish

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass: Fill a tall glass with ice.

  2. Mix Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the non-alcoholic gin, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for about 15 seconds.

  3. Pour and Top: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Top with soda water to your desired taste.

  4. Garnish: Add a lemon wheel or twist for garnish.

  5. Serve: Enjoy your refreshing Virgin Gin Fizz!

Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients

  • 4 cups seedless watermelon

  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice ( about 2-3 limes)

  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey

  • 1/2 cup sparkling water

  • lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend Watermelon: Place the cubed watermelon in a blender. Blend until smooth. You can strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp if desired.

  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the watermelon juice, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Stir well until everything is well mixed.

  3. Chill: For the best flavor, refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes.

  4. Serve: If using, rim the glasses with lime juice and dip in salt or sugar. Fill each glass with ice, then pour the watermelon mixture up to about 2/3 full.

  5. Add Sparkling Water: top each glass with sparkling water for a refreshing fizz. Gently stir to combine

  6. Garnish: Add lime wedges

  7. Serve: Enjoy your refreshing Virgin Watermelon Margarita

Pina Colada

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • 1 cup crushed ice

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • Pineapple wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks, coconut milk, crushed ice, and sugar (if using).

  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the mixture on high until it reaches a smooth and creamy texture.

  3. Adjust Consistency: If the mixture is too thick, add a little more coconut milk to achieve your desired consistency.

  4. Serve: Pour the Virgin Pina Colada into chilled glasses.

  5. Garnish: Garnish with pineapple wedges for a festive touch.

  6. Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing drink!

Berry Cooler

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberrie, raspberries and blackberries)

  • 2 cups sparkling water or tonic water

  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Berries: Rinse the mixed berries under cold water. If using strawberries, hull and slice them.

  2. Muddle the Berries: In a glass or pitcher, add the mixed berries. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently mash the berries to release their juices.

  3. Add Lime Juice: Squeeze the juice of one lime into the berry mixture. Stir to combine.

  4. Sweeten (Optional): If desired, mix in honey or agave syrup for added sweetness. Stir until fully dissolved.

  5. Mix with Sparkling Water: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the berry mixture evenly over the ice and top with sparkling water or tonic water. Stir gently to combine.

  6. Serve: Enjoy this summery drink

Mojito

  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Cheers
